What is a couple photoshoot

and why should you do one?

Couple sessions are about capturing your connection as it is: honest, warm, and real. Many couples book an engagement session before their wedding, but you don’t need a specific reason. It can simply be a beautiful way to celebrate your relationship and create something meaningful together.

If you’re planning a wedding, a couple photoshoot in Oslo is also a perfect opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera and get to know your photographer beforehand. It helps you feel more relaxed on the wedding day, and you get candid, natural images to use for your invites, save-the-dates, or wedding decor.

But above all, it’s just a lot of fun. It’s not about stiff poses. It’s about real smiles, shared glances, and quiet moments that feel like you.

A couple photoshoot at Oslo's Botanical Garden

On a Sunday in May, I met Karolina and Even for a couple photography session at Oslo’s Botanical Garden, and the day was simply perfect. Soft light, blooming flowers, and just the right amount of warmth in the air.

We started by the entrance of the Botanical Museum, a timeless stone building with dark green doors and a curved arch from 1914. It has real character and elegance, and creates the perfect backdrop for portraits that feel both classic and effortless.

As we moved into the garden, the rhododendrons were bursting with colour. Bold pinks against soft greenery. We wandered down quiet stone paths, laughed together, and let the moments unfold naturally.

The Botanical Garden is one of my favourite locations for a couple photoshoot in Oslo, but every session is different. Whether you prefer a more urban setting, a waterfront backdrop, or somewhere with personal meaning to you, I’ll help you find the right spot.
